Help When You Need

Feeling sick? Do you or your kiddo need urgent care, or have medical emergency? Do you have a dental emergency? Or maybe you just need some advice for treatment of non-urgent medical matter like bug bites, non-life threatening allergic reaction, etc. 

Santa Teresa is a remote town, but there are couple of options in town for medical care. NOTE: very urgent cases will most likely have to be transferred to other medical hospitals or institutions in Costa Rica, but providers below should/could be utilized as first contact providers who would/couod help you navigate next steps. 

Urgent care, or medical emergencies: Lifeguards Clinic - they are open 24h/7days; there are two locations (they often have an ambulance parked in front of them). One clinic is located in Playa Carmen Crossings, right on the intersection when you turn onto Cobano road, on your right side (this location have an X-ray). So you want to take your kiddo to a doctor? Or do you need to see a doctor, but this is a non-urgent matter, you can make an appointment to see Doctor Gamboa who has an office  located in Playa Carmen Comdominium. He has been serving the town for many years.

Lastly, pharmacies in town are an amazing resource for non-urgent and small issues. The pharmacists are pretty knowledgable and are a great resource for small, non-urgent medical discomforts. Our favorite pharmacy is the one in Playa Carmen Condominium (main street) or the one in Plaza Kahuna!
